Tamarisk is a community that sits with the area generally defined as Green Mountain in Lakewood. Prices in Tamarisk ended 2021 up 40% from 2020 while the number of sales actually fell. Home prices in 2021 ranged from $983,000 to $1,249,000. Homes in the community range in size from 3,083 square feet to around 5,200 sqaure feet (finished living area), with between 3 to 6 bedrooms and 3 to 5 bathrooms. This community was built by Village Homes in the early part of 2000. These are exceptionally well built homes as is the case for Village Homes around the metropolitan area. There is a great sense of pride in the community as shown by the longevity that homeowners tend to remain here. While there was more sales activity in 2018, 2019 and 2020, the prices remained relatively flat, hovering around $750,000 to $770,000. It was not until 2021 that Tamarisk saw fewer homes sale than in previous years but with a significant increase in the value buyers placed on these homes. Prices shot up 40% in 2021, ending the year at an average sales price of $1,094,000. The community consists of two story homes on sizable lots in comparison to many other locations around the west and southwest areas built around the same time. Lots generally range from just under a quarter acre to around a third of an acre.
Tamarisk is another ideally sited community at the western edge of the greater Denver Metropolitan area. Being a part of the Green Mountain area of Lakewood, these homes are nestled up against the “foothills”. Just off of C470 and Morrison road, the community provides easy commutes into points south along C470 and into the Denver Tech Center as well as points north along the I-70 corridor. The Federal Center is a high draw for employment and you are literally minutes from being on the I-70 west into the mountains to pursue your outdoor adventures with hiking, skiing/snowboarding, etc. You have also many options to recreate locally with Hayden/Green Mountain trails, parks and attractions. Come see why many love the local feel of Tamarisk and Green Mountain and why many choose to call this home.
